Solar Project: Phase 3
The summer months of 2012 find the Buckmans’ Inc crew in the midst of 'phase 3' of their solar energy project. In addition to the roof-mounted arrays located on their warehouse, sodium hypochlorite plant, and many of their area ski shops, Buckmans Inc is installing even more solar panels over many of their parking areas.
These addition panels will expand Buckmans’ renewable energy initiative and help to lower the need for energy created by fossil fuels.

This website gives our customers the option of ordering online, hosts a video library with behind the scenes Buckman’s Inc. information, and contains an improved and updated MSDS library. Our customers will find that these website improvements, especially the online ordering system, are unique to Buckman's Inc. and were created to enhance the level of service we offer to all of our accounts.

Buckman's Inc Launches New Website
The dedicated team at Buckman’s Inc. is ready for the busy spring and summer seasons and is excited to announce the launch of a brand new website. BuckmansInc.com was completely renovated over the winter, and the features of the new website are sure to please every Buckman’s Inc. customer.
The biggest change BuckmansInc.com users will notice is the greatly improved ability to order all their needed products online. Once their online account is activated, customers will be able to order by browsing our online catalogue or re-order using past order history. Sodium Hypochlorite Safety Announcement
Buckman’s Inc. has been in the business of selling and delivering sodium hypochlorite for 39 years and our drivers do their best to abide by all safety precautions when delivering chemicals to our customers. An incident a few weeks ago brought a new piece of safety information to our attention that we would like to make you aware of.
On Thursday, August 12th one of our drivers who has been with us for over 19 years was severely injured while delivering sodium hypochlorite to a customer. As he was delivering the sodium hypochlorite, it splashed on his legs and feet. He could not get his work boots off fast enough and the socks he was wearing, which were made partially from wool, melted into his skin almost immediately after the sodium hypochlorite came into contact with his socks. Our driver was rushed to the hospital and is now recuperating from severe 2nd degree burns on his feet and ankles.
We decided to test the reaction between sodium hypochlorite and wool against the reaction between sodium hypochlorite and cotton in our lab. We found that when sodium hypochlorite comes in contact with a cotton sock, nothing happens. When we tested the reaction between sodium hypochlorite and wool, we discovered that the temperature of the sodium hypochlorite went up to 192 degrees within 30 seconds.
We strongly recommend that if you are going to be handling sodium hypochlorite, you avoid wearing wool fabrics in order to avoid injury.
